Spearfishing Gear in Far North Queensland: Ocean Universal

Ocean Universal in Westcourt, Cairns carries a solid spearfishing selection. Makes sense — the shop used to be Spearfishing Superstore, so spearo gear is still what they're known for.

They've got rail spearguns, spearfishing wetsuits, long-blade fins, low-volume masks, weight belts, floats, dive knives, and spearfishing accessories. Gear is suited to tropical waters — not southern stuff that won't last in FNQ.

The name changed to Ocean Universal because the shop had already added scuba and freediving gear over the years. But spearfishing gear wasn't cut back. It's still the backbone they do.

Staff are local spearos and know what works on visit site FNQ reefs.
